Porsche created the small-engined 935 so it could compete in the German DRM championship’s 2.0-litre class, against Ford and BMW’s. Despite it’s official name, the 935/2.0 had 1.4-litre engine with a single turbocharger developing 370bhp. Raced by Jacky Ickx it only competed twice, retiring from its first race at the Norisring with mechanical issues and then dominating its second race at Hockenheim (lapping most of the field) before being withdrawn from racing.
