The S1 E2 made its debut at the 1985 Rally Argentina, with driver Stig Blomqvist. This updated variant of the formidable Group B car was highly competitive, with Walter Röhrl and Christian Geistdörfer winning the 1985 San Remo Rally. The S1 E2 would become the final Group B car produced by Audi, with the works team withdrawing from the Championship in 1986, following the Portugal rally. The final factory cars of 1986 produced a monstrous 592 hp and could accelerate to 60mph in 3.1 seconds - incredible performance for the time - with a legendary engine note to match.
