The 911 (993) Carrera 2 was a heavily updated version of the previous 964 911 generation. It was launched in 1994 and continued until 1998 as the last air-cooled Porsche. It was the first 911 to feature a six speed gearbox and a new multi-link wishbone suspension system which dramatically reduced lift-off oversteer of previous models. The styling was also updated to accommodate reprofiled front wings, steeper raked headlamps and smoother bumper profiles.
